What we collect

Order information. When you place an order, we collect information such as your name, email address, telephone number, billing and shipping address, order details and the specifications selected for your board. We use this information to manufacture your board, process and fulfil your order, arrange collection or delivery, maintain your account, provide warranty and repair services and communicate with you about your order.

Payment information. Card payments are processed by Stripe. Offshore does not receive or store your full payment card details.

Account information. If you create an Offshore account, we store information associated with your account, orders and build history so you can follow your board, view photographs and access your records.

Technical information. When you use the website, we may collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, referring pages, pages visited and the date and time of access. We use this information to operate, secure and understand the performance of the website.

Contact information. If you email us, submit a form, make a warranty claim or contact us about a product, we collect the information you provide so we can respond to your request.

How we use your information

We use personal information where necessary to: process and fulfil orders; manufacture boards to the specifications selected; maintain Offshore customer accounts and build records; send production and delivery updates; provide customer support; administer warranty claims and repairs; process payments; arrange shipping and delivery; prevent fraud and protect the security of the website; operate and improve the website; comply with accounting, tax and legal obligations; and send marketing communications where you have chosen to receive them.

Services we use

We use trusted service providers to operate Offshore, process payments, host and maintain the website, send communications and deliver orders. They include:

• Stripe processes card payments. Stripe receives your payment details and billing information to take payment and prevent fraud.
• FedEx receives names, delivery addresses and contact details to calculate shipping rates and deliver international orders and snowboards. Japan Post carries softgoods within Japan and receives the delivery details on the parcel.
• WP Engine hosts the website and our ecommerce system, including order records, accounts and backups, with content delivery and security provided through Cloudflare.
• Postmark sends our transactional email, such as order confirmations and build updates, and receives your name and email address to do so.
• Our build system records the production stages and workshop photographs of your board against your order so they can be shown in your Offshore account.

What we do not do

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not run third-party advertising on this website.

Cookies

This website uses only the cookies needed for it to function: they keep your cart, checkout and account sign-in working. We do not use analytics, advertising or other third-party tracking cookies.

International processing

Some of the service providers we use may process information outside Japan. Where required, we take appropriate steps to ensure personal information is handled in accordance with applicable privacy law.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably required for the purpose for which it was collected, including order fulfilment, warranty service, accounting, tax and legal obligations. Order and transaction records may need to be retained for periods required by law. When information is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it where appropriate.

How we protect your information

We use organisational, physical and technical measures appropriate to the information we hold to protect it against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. We review these measures as our systems and services change.

Your information

You may contact us to ask about the personal information we hold about you or to request access to or correction of that information. You may also request deletion or cessation of use where applicable, subject to information we are required to retain for legal, accounting, warranty or other legitimate purposes.
